Collagen Stimulation for skin tightening in Melbourne, Florida

What is collagen?

Collagen is structural protein shat make up connective tissues in our bodies.  It is the key component in skin and cartilege.  80% of your skin's structure is made of collagen. That's what gives your skin its firmness and strength.

Can I take a Collagen supplement to help my skin?

No.  Taking an oral supplement of collagen will not help your skin integrity.  There are some benefits to collagen supplements such as promoting healthy nail and hair growth, but it will do nothing for the prevention of wrinkles or tightening of the skin. Unfortunately, collagen supplements can cause side effects such as heartburn, a bad taste in the mouth, or a feeling of fullness.

How can I prevent my face from sagging?

Always wear an SPF sunscreen of at least 30 to protect against UV rays, avoid smoking, and eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.  Consider cosmetic procedures that can help you produce collagen such as Ultherapy, Microneedling, and Laser Rejuvenation treatments. In addition, invest in quality skin care products that help protect the integrity of your skin. I recommend the Neo-Cutis line of products developed in Switzerland, and the Obagi line of products.

What's the difference between Ultherapy, Microneedling, and Laser Rejuvenation?

Ultherapy stimulates the production of collagen much deeper under the skin than the other two procedures.  It forms the structural lattice work that supports the soft tissue elements of the more superficial layers.  Microneedling and Laser treatments work on a much more superficial layer and produce collagen in the top layer.  Using both Ultherapy AND Microneedling or a laser treatment is ideal for maximum collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
